IL MUSEO: Il Museo de L'Aire di Madrid, museo storico dell'Aeronautica Militare Spagnola, si trova sulla superficie dell'aeroporto Militare di Cuatro Vientos, culla della aviazione in Spagna.
COME ARRIVARCI: Il Museo, situato a sud di Madrid, si raggiunge comodamente con i mezzi pubblici dal lato nord della stazione della metropolitana di Aluche, con le linee di bus Madrid-Alcorcon-Mostoles (circa 15 minuti di bus dalla stazione di Principe Pio). Chiedete all'autista del bus dove dovete scendere. Una volta scesi dal bus (la fermata è lungo una sorta di superstrada) dovte attraversare il ponte che passa sopra la superstrada, attraversare un altro ponte su un fiumiciattolo, ed arrivare alle garitte di guardia dell'ingresso, dove vi verranno chiesti i documenti per registrarvi. Il museo, infatti, è situato in zona militare. La stazione della metropolitana di Cuatro Vientos è invece abbastanza lontana dall'ingresso del museo, e dovreste prendere il bus per 2 fermate, o fare circa 20 minuti a piedi lungo la superstrada, cosa assolutamente non consigliabile. Se invece siate in auto, potete scaricare la mappa per arrivare al museo a questo link: http://www.aire.org/museo/imagenes/mapa.pdf Il museo dall'autostrada non si vede, ma un buon punto di riferimento è il serbatoio dell'acqua. Attenzione: il museo NON è all'aeroporto civile di Cuatro Vientos, dove ha sede il locale Aeroclub, che si trova in una zona adiacente. I due siti però non sono comunicanti tra loro. L'ingresso è gratuito. L'orario di apertura è martedi-sabato 10:00-14:00. Controllate sul sito i giorni di chiusura.
THE MUSEUM: The history museum of the Spanish Air Force is located on the former area of the Military Airport of Cuatro Vientos, nest of the Spanish aviation, south of Madrid.
HOW TO GET THERE: The Museum is located south of the city, just outside the city limits. Madrid has an excellent subway system but the stop 'Cuatro Vientos" falls considerably short of the museum. The best way to reach the museum is taking the subway to Estación Principe Pio (Norte) and the bus to Cuatro Vientos (line to Alcorcòn or Móstoles. Ask to the bus driver for the bus stop for "Museo del Aire". In about 10-15 minutes you arrive from Principe Pio to the Museum. The bus stop is on a side of the highway. Cross the pedestrian bridge over the highway and reach the military bases gate. The guard at the gate will ask you the passport and will register you, than you will have free entrance. For return there is no problem, as buses pass frequently. There is no access from the airport to the museum and you have to find the gate to the museum quite different from the access to the airport. The museum is surrounded by a confusing number of roads. From the highway the museum cannot be seen, but the watertower is a good landmark. The entrance is free. Opening hours would be Tuesday-Sunday 10:00 - 14:00. Certain holidays will close this museum, too.
