Bazzenville è un villaggio situato nelle campagne 8 chilometri a est di Bayeux, in Normandia, nell'entroterra non lontano dalle spiagge di Arromanches, dove la 50ma Divisione Britannica sbarcò il 6 Giugno 1944. Le prime sepolture in questo luogo avvennero due giorni dopo lo sbarco. Il cimitero ospita 979 caduti, di cui 630 Britannici, 21 Canadesi, 1 Australiano, 1 Polacco e 326  Tedeschi. Le tombe dei nemici di un tempo sono curate ed onorate allo stesso modo di quelle dei caduti alleati.

 

Bazenville is a village 8 kilometres east of Bayeux. Ryes War Cemetery is not far inland from the beaches at Arromanches, where the 50th Division landed on 6 June. The first burials were made there just two days after the landings. The cemetery contains 630 British burials, 21 Canadian, 1 Australian, 1 Polish. There are also 326 German burials. The burials of those who were once enemies are now well maintained as well as those of the fallen Allied.
