Il Normandy Tank Museum è il più grande Museo di Normandia con 3.100 m2 di esposizione, oltre 40 veicoli esposti, 11 000 oggetti, della seconda guerra mondiale, 5 ettari per le dimostrazioni di carri e 3 ettari di piste d’aviazione. Vi è possibile fare un giro in carro armato, unico posto di questo genere in Francia.
Il museo si trova poco lonatno da Carentan, tra Omah Beach ed Utah Beach, lungo la superstrada che corre all'interno della costa. Costruito sul sito storico del campo d’aviazione A10 Airifield costruito dal 15 al 18 giugno 1944, presenta al pubblico una collezione eccezionale che riunisce numerosi carri utilizzati durante la seconda guerra mondiale, e in particolare durante l’operazione Cobra: camions, Jeep, moto e aerei, tutti ancora perfettamente funzionanti (ad eccezione di un Panzer IV, l'unico in mostra statica). Il Normandy Tank Museum propone ogni tanto dimostrazioni dinamiche all’esterno. I visitatori possono salire a bordo di un carro armato in movimento per tentare un’esperienza indimenticabile e scoprire sensazioni sulla pista appositamente allestita. Il Boeing PT 17 Stearman ed il Piper L4 Grasshopper talvolta si spostano sul campo d’aviazione per dimostrazioni di volo. L'A10 Airfield è il primo aerodromo riaperto dal 1944 per poter accogliere piccoli aerei e permettere dimostrazioni aeree o battesimi dell’aria con sorvolo delle spiagge.

The Normandy Tank Museum is the region’s largest museum, with 3,100 square metres of exhibition spaces, more than 40 vehicles on display, 11,000 artefacts dating from WWII, a 5-hectare zone for tank demonstrations and a 3-hectare airstrip. It is the only place offering tank rides in France.
Just outside Carentan, midway between the Omaha and Utah beach sectors, this brand new museum stands on the site of the A10 Airfi eld built in 15-18 June 1944. Visitors can admire a superb collection that includes large numbers of tanks used in World War II, and more particularly during Operation Cobra, along with lorries, jeeps, motorbikes and airplanes, all in working order.
Instead of the usual static displays, the museum regularly holds outdoor demonstrations. Visitors can even climb aboard the tanks and ride along a specially designed track for a truly thrilling and unforgettable experience. The Boeing PT 17 Stearman and Piper L4 Grasshopper are also put through their paces on the airstrip. The A10 is the fi rst airfi eld to have been reopened since 1944 to cater for small aircraft and host aerial displays and fi rst fl ights, plus sightseeing trips along the Landing Beaches.
