In order to mark the 10th anniversary of the American Air Museum in Britain (AAM) the Imperial Air Museum Duxford has joined forces with the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE) to hold a special display of the F-15 Strike Eagle as part of Flying Legends on Saturday 28 July 2007. The event also paid tribute to 60 years of service and operations in Europe for the United States Air Force and the enduring partnership with Duxford, where five USAAF Aero Squadrons were startioned since March 1918 until the VE day. At Duxford also stands a memorial of the 30.000 US Airmen who gave their lives while flying from British bases (including Duxford) during the WW2.
The event of the day was the air display of an F-16 Strike Eagle, and a stunning formation formation flight with two P51-D Mustang and a P39-Q Airacobra.
